To my Teammates and Fellow Duelists;
Anyone who knows any institutions or hospitals that have a ward for kids with cancer? Please let us know.
In Manila ....where my youngest brother Mark Anthony was hospitalized and diagnosed with cancer.. they have this in U.S.T. a Cancer Ward for Kids wherein all cancer patients are in one big room... it was really a boring place ... kids just wait for their medicine and really do not have anything to do.. been thinking of visiting one of the areas here with kids with cancer and perhaps teach them on how to play yugioh tcg ...we can right now create an exact replica of our cards or yung yugi starter deck muna... i know this is very hard but....
.. i recall dami namin naturuan nang kapatid ko na c Mark na mag Yugioh TCG sa hospital na un... and you'll see they want to wake up and then play in the hospital using some of our yugioh decks...my youngest brother Mark died when he was just 11 lapit na kc naalala ko lang .. September 17, 2003... sya lang nagenganyo sa akin maglaro nang yugioh kc.. me and my other brother really plays magic tcg before....
" Laugh at it" as we talk with the other cancer patients in the hospital whenever we play Yu-Gi-Oh. Playing Yu-Gi-Oh with cancer patients taught me the therapeutic importance of laughter...hehehe... A good game makes patients feel better (take note di po ako nagpapatalo sa kanila.. it is just that they are good playing yugioh), not only emotionally they feel better but also physically. It temporarily makes their pains, even severe cancer pains, disappear... as my youngest brother says.
From a purely physiological standpoint laughter creates increased relaxation and oxygenation. Endorphins, the body's homegrown "narcotics," go to work...wow parang doctor ako magsalita dito.. but, really one of the doctors there in U.S.T. says those words to us.... The body's immune system is stimulated as well. Laughter brings about well-being by combating destructive stress, depression, rage, and insomnia. It provides an overall liberating effect. Distraction from oneself, from one's physical and other concerns, plays a beneficial role too.
It's very helpful to their doctor and his/her staff to actually enjoy having us around. With humor serving as motivation, the treating and players of yugioh and other personnel will go out of their way to be helpful and caring, thus creating a physically and emotionally therapeutic environment. Treatment, even a very trying or painful one, becomes a much more effective and tolerable experience.
.. nobela na naman to basta anyone who knows of any cancer institutions here (Pampanga) that house kids with cancer .. please let us know.
thanks
