On August 21, 2006. I sent an e-mail to our Governor detailing the plan for October 28, 2006 Major Tournament in Pampanga. I am the OIC at that time.
(Please take note that the date and venue for Sneak Preview in Manila is still unknown to me at that time...pero punta ako dito sa Sneak Preview)
Our Governor responded recently via SMS with details about Trophies that he will be donating to our Team for the Major Tournament in Pampanga for 2006. Perhaps ...I am not clear with my intention about the actual sponsorship I requested to our governor from the e-mail I sent before so I sent an SMS to his/her secretary for our intention to have a meeting with him so we can clarify our actual intention of getting the sponsorship for the Major Prizes:
1st Place: Sony PSP
2nd Place: N-Gage QD
3rd Place: Gameboy SP
It was my fault for agreeing on a meeting this September 25, 2006 (Monday) set by our governor and not informing our current Team Leader. Russell John, our current Team Leader and other teammates are not interested in this meeting. They (including the Team Leader) mentioned that Politicians will just request anything to us in exchange of this favor for sponshorship. This is in their mindset perhaps our other teammates as well.
The original plan before:
1. Obtain the Certificate of Recognition from the Priest in Pampanga recognizing our team as a Non-Profit Youth Organization.
2. With the team having this Certificate of Recognition. We can easily request for sponsorship(s) for our team. In this way, any entry fees will be waived so as not to pay for any registration fees in any of our Major Tournaments.
3. The plan for tournaments and other activities including the team participating in other charitable works that includes visiting and teaching youth cancer patients to play Yu-Gi-Oh TCG and others are part of the 2 Year Plan in accordance for our team to be listed as a Non-Profit Organization. This is for PCNC certification.
What is PCNC?
PCNC or the Philippine Council for NGO Certification is a private, voluntary, non-stock, non-profit corporation that serves as a service organization whose main function is to certify non-profit organizations.
One of the requirements for the major criteria for certification is;
PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION
The organization must demonstrate that it is effectively using its resources to accomplish the purposes for which it was created. Evaluation shall consider the program and projects implemented within the last two years and the presence of clearly-defined policies, systems, priorities, and guidelines in implementing the organization's programs and services.
You will noticed even though you are not a lawyer the phrase "...projects implemented within the last two years". Our Team is requesting for sponsorship now to fund our activities thus the requirement applies to "...projects implemented within the last two years".
I am not hoping for the team to last for 2 years or acquire the legitimate status of our team being a Non-Profit Organization. However, we can always justify the reason why we are requesting for sponsorship by the phrase on their rules related to "...projects implemented within the last two years". In other words, we can always request for sponsorship by justifying that the funds for sponsorship that we are doing now are part of our plan for being certified as a Non-Profit Organization.
Again, mga tol, the 3 Point Agenda before is just part of our team being organized and to encourage more to be Yu-Gi-Oh Players then creating an environment of friendly competition (not only in our region). To others who have seen the Magic TCG Tournaments. You will envy their participants reaching thousands. I am no longer a Magic TCG player and Traded All of my Magic Cards to Yu-Gi-Oh Cards but the goal is still the same; "To have the same number of participants or outnumbering the Magic TCG tournament attendance for Yu-Gi-Oh Tournaments."
To my teammates and fellow duelists. Is the aborted agenda "Right or Wrong"? Is it really true that politicians will just request for anything in return for the favor granted and not give them the benefit of the doubt?
Thanks for reading.
